Amazing hub. And honestly I hardly knew a fact except that earth is not named after any Roman god. My brother is reading with me too and now he is planning to send my mom in perpetual space travel as she cries a lot!!lol...But really good knowledgeable hub on science facts.

Great Hub! There's a lot of fun facts here! I learned quite a few new things. That's crazy about the tears though. I would have never thought that gravity would have anything to do with crying!

OMG, You and shoes...and, Halloween costumes!!! Really, never knew the Sun rotated. Lots of interesting info here Shari. BTW, did you see the Harvest Moon on the 23rd? Absolutely spectacular!!! Loved this, Ciao!

I would think astronauts can still cry but instead of running down the cheek it would just float away from the tear ducts into open space. Your body would push out the tears. Just my thought on it. However some every interesting information on here. I am a bit of a science nut. To bad space doesn't stop gray hair.

This is a really cool hub, Shari, and a great way to acquaint kids and others with interesting science facts. Painless education, I call it

I know that the word describing our planet, Earth, comes from old English and German words but always though it interesting that we never gave it a Roman god's name like the others. Though it has been called Terra as in terra firma. Since we often call it mother earth, what would you think of the name, Juno?

wavegirl22 profile image

wavegirl22 Hub Author 20 months ago

I thought that to be interesting as well, that the Earth doesnt have a 'gods' name .. probably cause the Earth is a goddess ;) but maybe this hub will generate some kids out there to come up with the "why" . . Juno hmmm wasnt that about a very offbeat young girl who made an interesting decision regarding her unborn child . . food for thought!

I love these type of facts, as I was never good at the conventional way of learning. . I think if you can make a little fun with science it just makes it all that much easier for it to sink in!

Okay, you produced another great and informative hub. What is with you? LOL! However, I didn't get to learn anything new from this one, but I guess that won't surprise you too much. It is things like Fun Science Facts that makes for easy learning, because kids find it fun and usually when they are having fun then they absorb more. Cool hub. :)

Wonderfully informative hub! Incredible that we take the every day beauty round us for granted yet we are surrounded by so much of scintific beauty!. I remember the Halleys comet back in 1986...my older sister was attempting to make a homemde telescope so we could see it. Sadly we didnt get to see it...but since I was 6 at the time I am hoping to catch it again in 2062:)
