We all have this wonder product that you get at the drugstore in our medicine cabinets. If you are smart you keep a tube of petroleum jelly in your make up bag as well as your desk drawer in the office. It is one of the most inexpensive product that can take care of so many things, especially when it comes to dry skin care, nail care and a great fill in for many beauty treatments that otherwise cost alot of money. Vaseline is probably one of the best beauty tips on the planet.

Personally I never leave home without a tube of vaseline. I have a good size jar in my bathroom and one next to my bed. Here I want to share with you why I love it so much and my top 10 ways I use petroleum jelly.

I am a lover of chapped stick but if you can only have one beauty product in your bag, I reach for my tube of Vaseline. It will keep your lip soft and smooth all day if you start the day by spreading some petroleum jelly over your lips. Use it alone or as an instant gloss over your lipstick.

Nail and Cuticle Nourishment

You could go into the drugstore and spend the big bucks and buy some fancy cuticle cream. But as a friend of mine used to say why save money when you can spend it! Personally I rather have the extra dollars in my pocket so when I want to soften my hands I reach for my ever useful little jar. For using this product on your hands you will start to notice that you have the softest cuticles and the extra bonus is that this jelly will give a boost to your nail bed making your nails stronger. All you need to to do is massage some vaseline around the cutilcles and all over the nail. Your hands will thank you and dry fraying cuticles will be a thing of the past.

Before you go to bed take a big dolup of petroleum jelly and massage into your heels and all around your feet. Put a pair of cotton socks on to keep the moisture in. You will wake up to the softest smoothest feet. Say goodbye to those 25 dollar foot creams for vaseline will do the trick and at barely any cost.

Protection from Hair Dye

Ever dye your hair at home and get the color all over your forehead and ears. Here is one of my favorite beauty tips I learned when I had my hair colored at Bumble and Bumble. Next time you are ready for your hair treatment take a finger into your jar of petroleum jelly and cover your hairline and ears for a stain free beauty treatment. Think about it, you are also adding some good moisture to your skin! High priced salons like to sell this in a fancy package when all it is is really good old petroleum jelly in an expensive package.

Boost Color

For a shine that is gorgeous try using a small amount of vaseline over your eye shadow. You will be amazed at the color your bring out. Or if you dont want to doll yourself up and just want a natural look just add some to your bare eyes. Brings the whole eye out and a gorgeous natural look while nourishing the eye area at the same time.

As if there were not enough incredible things one can do with Vaseline, this one is just about my favorite. You can make a lip flavored lip gloss in just about any flavor you like. Girls of all ages love to make this and it is so easy to do. For the easy homemade lip gloss for girls you just need a little time and some cute pots. Its delicious and a great lip moisturizer to boot.

An Eye Make-Up Boost

After your skin regiment at night try dabbing a little jelly onto your eye lashes and eye brows. The moisture in the vaseline with help to nourish therefore keeping the lashes supple and strong all day long. Use it generosity especially where you have dry scaly patches, like on your elbows. I use it in these places when I come out of the shower. The jelly soaks right into my skin leaving it soft and oh so smooth. Just be careful as you will be a little greasy so let in soak in before you get dressed.
